Our body changes throughout life: cells die and recover. But with each decade they recover worse and worse. After 30 years, a person begins to lose 1-2% muscle mass per year, even if he leads an active lifestyle. All tissues in the body suffer losses, which is why signs of aging appear on the skin. We call it aging and we know that it cannot be stopped.
External signs of aging appear around the age of 25.
Why signs of aging are visible on the skin:
- the fat layer decreases;
- bone mass decreases;
- connective tissue is destroyed.
Metabolism slows down in the connective tissue. The building materials of our body are produced less and less: proteins (collagen and elastin) and polysaccharides (glycosaminoglycans). Broadly speaking, the aging process lies in the gradual loss of these components. What we can do? Try to slow down aging. Often they even improve the condition of the skin and rejuvenate it with the help of competent care.
How do essential oils for the face act against wrinkles?
In plants, essential oils participate in metabolic processes. The main components of esters (terpenoid and aromatic compounds) participate very quickly and actively in various chemical reactions inside cells. Active chemical reactions also occur when ether comes into contact with human skin. Phenols, aldehydes, organic acids and alcohols in ether cause skin irritation and blood flows faster to the place of contact with them. Thanks to this effect, oil compresses and applications work. The higher the concentration of oil and the longer the exposure, the more active the skin reaction will be.
Essential oils do not contain vitamins. The vitamin is retained in water or fat; there are no fats or water in the ester.
Use facial oil for wrinkles
When we need to treat fine lines and wrinkles, the options seem endless. Should you choose a cream or a light anti-aging moisturizer? How about a vitamin C serum or acid gel?
Essential oils cannot eliminate wrinkles, but they can help minimize them.
They can also:
- accelerate collagen production
- improve skin tone
- even out complexion
- reduce inflammation
- increase epithelial cell turnover
- protect your skin from the environment
What facial oil to choose for wrinkles instead of cream?
One of the most valuable components of skin oils are lipids (fats). They glue horn cells (scales) together, creating a protective barrier that retains moisture. It also protects against the penetration of harmful microorganisms.
By applying it to the skin in its pure form, we seem to strengthen this protective barrier and the skin is saturated with moisture.
But the problem is that not a single vegetable oil contains an adequate proportion of lipids for our dermis. When applied to the face, we immediately feel hydrated and comfortable because it smoothes and softens the horny scales. It also creates a film that retains moisture on the surface.
If we continue to apply it regularly, it will begin to penetrate deeper into the skin layer and erode our own lipids. Their ratio will begin to change, which will lead to the destruction of the lipid barrier. The skin will become even drier and flakier.
Therefore, to strengthen the lipid layer it will be much more beneficial to consume fats internally.
But there are good news. Thanks to their moisturizing and softening properties, vegetable fats are perfect for treating wrinkles, if you approach it wisely.
In combination with other components, they have a beneficial effect on the skin and smooth fine wrinkles. Therefore, it is even recommended for use in various mask recipes.
But so that the skin does not get used to it, the recipes must be constantly changed. But more on that below. For the reasons mentioned above, it is not recommended to use it regularly in its pure form, so replacing it with daily care instead of a cream will not work, as it can cause serious damage.
For wrinkles, in order to further hydrate and smooth, it is used in its pure form only in case of emergency for a cycle of 1 to 2 weeks. This must be done respecting the following rules:
- Before applying, the face must be wet;
- the number of drops depending on your skin type: dry 3-4 drops, normal 2-3, oily 1-2;
- after 15-20 minutes, blot the cover with a napkin, thereby removing excess;
- after use, be sure to apply moisturizer;
- Apply oil to the area around your eyes two hours before bed to prevent severe puffiness.
An effective and safer option for using anti-wrinkle oil is to add a small amount of drops to various masks, the recipes for which are detailed below. In combination with other components for 20-30 minutes, such compositions will bring benefits only if they are selected correctly (more on this later).
Anti-aging can be done 2-3 times a week. At the same time, to prevent the skin from getting used to it, it is recommended to change the composition of the masks once a month.
